Staying in Tune: William Fitzsimmons

Staying in Tune: A weekly interview series presented by Sound Mind that discusses mental health through the lens of music and musicians on their own personal mental health journeys.

This Week’s Guest: William Fitzsimmons

Live on Instagram: @SoundMind_Live

Nashville singer-songwriter William Fitzsimmons grew up as the youngest child of two blind parents, in a family that leaned into sound and music as ways to communicate. His memorably passionate and intense tracks "Passion Play" and "Please Don't Go” were featured on TV medical drama Grey’s Anatomy. He previously worked as a licensed mental health therapist, and says he often uses songwriting as therapy to work through difficult personal challenges.

In this episode of Staying in Tune, we’ll be talking about how mental health challenges have shaped his life and his music.

By building empathy, encouraging dialogue, and sharing resources, this podcast aims to explore better ways to cope through the shared stresses of our lives.
