Staying in Tune: A weekly interview series presented by Sound Mind that discusses mental health through the lens of music and musicians on their own personal mental health journeys.
This week we’ll be talking with Jacob Slichter, drummer of the legendary rock band Semisonic and current writer/teacher, about the role mental health has played in in his music, his career, his relationships, and his life journey. Early on in his career, he suffered such intense stage fright and imposter syndrome that he considered quitting the band. But he’s glad he didn’t, and Semisonic has a new EP out now.
By building empathy, encouraging dialogue, and sharing resources, we can all find ways to better cope through the shared stresses of our current lives.
